Srinagar : The Jammu-Srinagar highway remained closed to traffic for the seventh consecutive day on Tuesday.
The landslide at Marog in Ramban-Ramsoo sector has been almost cleared, an official said.
But two fresh landslides have occurred in the sector during the night, he said.
However, the landides are small ones and would be cleared soon.
“We are hopeful of opening the highway by today afternoon,” the official said.
The closure of highway has caused acute shortage of essentials in valley ever since the highway was shut on 6 February six, following a series of avalanches and landslides. (KNS)
