Srinagar/Jammu, Aug 6 (GNS): Days before the launch of a unique initiative of Geology & Mining Department relating to implementation of e-Operations and 360 degree overhauling of operations, a sensitization workshop under the chairpersonship of Secretary to Government, Mining Department Amit Sharma was organised in the Conference Hall of Udyog Bhavan Jammu with focus on implementation of e-Challans and e-Marketplace in Mining Operations.
All the Officers and Head of Departments of the Department including Director Geology & Mining O.P Bhagat, Managing Director J&K Minerals Vikram.K Gupta, All District Mineral Officers of the UT and Technical Experts from outside attended this all-important workshop through physical and virtual mode.
Workshop Chair Secretary Mining Amit Sharma who was previously IT Secretary as well, himself mentored for clearing lot of doubts of various DMOs during the hands-on Workshop about the Online functioning of this unique G2B2C Portal which is first-of-its-kind in the nation through which QR-coded foolproof e-Challans to all relevant vendors shall be issued in future through integration of payment gateways for online charging of royalty fees and other dues. Further, this portal shall offer perfect online platform to buyers and sellers of Mining material like RBM, Sand, etc as per their suitability, pricing and location which shall be monitored online by the department.
A detailed presentation about this upcoming portal and its features was made by the developers mentioning each and every step planned by the department through it with the purpose to completely weed out pilferage, bias, corruption and human error and push our UT in the ‘elite league’ of few states of the nation who have implemented complete automation in the Mining operations.
Amit Sharma, Secretary Mining further disclosed during this sensitization workshop that all the DMOs have been given explicit directions to finish the work of installation of weigh bridges in all the districts by the end of this month so that all the quantity of material in all vehicles involved in Mining Operations shall be auto-weighed and further royalty and other fees shall be auto-charged as per accurate weight of the material being mined from the respective blocks.
Secretary Mining Amit Sharma further disclosed that the Vision and Mission of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Dr Arun K Mehta are being implemented in Mining Department wherein there is zero tolerance for corruption through the successful implementation of e-Governance models, as already e-Auctioning of nearly 200 Mining blocks has taken place recently and the Mining Department has resolved towards adherence to e-Practices which is the need of the hour.
