SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Rehbr-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTTF) has announced a massive protest calendar for a state wide agitation against the step motherly treatment and callous attitude towards the teachers and also to press their pending demands.
In a press statement issued here today, Spokesperson of the forum said that thousands of teachers who are working under Serve Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) continue to suffer for want of the salaries which are pending since January 2017.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Finance Minister Dr. Haseeb. A. Drabu has announced on the floor of house during budget session to delink SSA salary and promised releasing the same from April 2017 onwards monthly basis but it seems that the Govt. has forgotten that they have to pay the salaries of thousands of SSA teachers who are finding it very much difficult to make their both ends meat.
The assurances of the EM and FM from time to time that the such kind of problems will be looked into have proved to be a damp squib.
He also alleged that both the duos making tall claims that the grievances of the teachers working under Serva Shikhsha Abhiyan (SSA) will be addressed but nothing of such kind has happened so far.
He further stressed upon the Government to release the pending salaries of these teachers with out any further delay. He further said that if the government fails to redress their issues and release the pending salaries of teachers fraternity the forum will lock their schools and take streets on 15th of June.
He further appealed all the district/zonal presidents and other stakeholders to gear up their respective units and ensure large participation of teachers to make the programme historical on 15th of June at Press enclave Srinagar, and also observe complete lockout on 15th & 16th of June across the state.
The decision was taken after threadbare discussion among all the executives of both the provinces of J&K state including acting chairman of the forum Bashir Ahmad Dar, State president Vinod Sharma, Ashaq Rasool, Sukhdev Singh, Saleem Sager, Najam Jaffari, Gazi Abdul Aziz, Parvez Iqbal, Reyaz ul Rehman, Mohammad Amin Budgami, Rajesh Jamwal, Peer Siraj, Tufail Masroor, Qazi Tasleem, Shabir Ahmed Tantrey, Fayaz Ahmad Shah, Naresh Sharma and all the DPs of state.
