Srinagar: Police on Monday said that in a decisive crackdown under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan , Srinagar Police has demolished an illegal residential structure belonging to a habitual Drug peddler in the Palpora Noorbagh area.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that the accused, Mohammad Irfan Sheikh @ Iff S/o Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh R/o Pamposh Colony, Palpora Noorbagh, is a known narcotics offender involved in multiple NDPS cases, including:

FIR No. 134/2024 U/S 8/21, 29 NDPS Act of PS Safakadal FIR No. 48/2025 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Sangam. This action sends a clear and unequivocal message: properties created from proceeds of drug trafficking will not be spared, and those involved in narcotics trade will face strict and visible consequences.

Srinagar Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and remains committed to dismantling the entire ecosystem of narcotics, including financial and logistical networks. Citizens are urged to come forward and support this collective fight to safeguard the youth and society from the menace of drugs, reads the statement.(GNS)
