*Says from 143 cases in 2018, 2021 reported only 34 bids; multi-pronged approach in place to prevent infiltration*

Srinagar, Apr 06 (KNO): The infiltration cases in J&K are on decline in J&K as just 34 infiltration cases were reported in year 2021, Ministry of Home Affairs said on Wednesday.
As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), while replying to a question, Minister of State in the MHA Nityanand Rai said that the cross border infiltration has decreased significantly as 136 infiltration bids took place in year 2017, 143 in 2018, 138 in 2019, 51 in 2020 and 34 in 2021.
The Minister’s replying to a question “whether the cross border infiltration has increased in Jammu and Kashmir during the last five years, and the steps taken by the government to check the menace, said that the Government has adopted a multi -pronged approach to contain cross border infiltration.
“This includes multi-tiered deployment along the International Border/Line of Control, border fencing, improved intelligence and operational coordination, equipping security forces with advanced weapons and taking proactive action against infiltrators,” he said—(KNO)
