SRINAGAR: Government Friday evening revoked month long ban on Social media in Kashmir. Confirming the development, a top official of home department said “the ban has been revoked.”
Immediately after the cell phones started ringing with multiple messages, the netizens took on to facebook and whatzapp to express their joy. Many posts on facebook thanked the “VPN” as they say it “helped Kashmir to stay connected throughout the ban period.”
Imposed on April 26, the government had banned all social networking sites and applications on the ground that “these were being misused by anti-national and anti-social elements to create law and order problem.”
Interestingly the CNS, the internet service provider to most of media houses in Kashmir have still kept the facebook shut.
