TRAL: A fierce gun fight broke out between security forces and militants in Saimoh village of Tral in Pulwama, in which two militant are believed to be killed, reports said.
Reports said that the militants opened fire on the patrolling party late Friday night, triggering a brief encounter that lasted for some time after the militants fled from the spot.
Reports said that a cordon was laid around the village which continued throughout the night adding that today morning, the gunfight began again, which was going on when last reports came.
Sources said that two to three militants, including top Hizib commander Sabzar Ahmad Bhat are believed to be trapped inside the cordon. However it the identity of two militants killed in the encounter is yet ascertained.
Meanwhile, clashes erupted in the nearby village of Rathsuna after locals tried to break the cordon to reach the encounter site. Dozens of civilians were injured after forces fired pellets and burst teargas, shells to disperse the protesters in Rathsun village of Tral. The village is located adjacent to Saimoh where a fierce gunfight is underway since today morning. The injured youth were shifted to Sub District Hospital Tral for treatment.
