Samba, Oct 6 : Samba Police has cracked the Jakh Vijaypur murder case within hours of commission of offence with arrest of main accused and recovery of weapon of offence.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that on 5th October at about 1740 hours an information was received at Police Station Vijaypur regarding a firing incident at Jakh near Power House. Police team immediately responded and initiated investigation.
During the incident Atish Sharma alias Attu son of Omkar Nath resident of Jakh Tehsil Vijaypur District Samba sustained firearm injuries and succumbed at spot.
During investigation it emerged that Nikhil Sharma son of Bawa Ditta resident of Jakh Bagla Rajinderpura Tehsil Vijaypur District Samba had allegedly fired upon deceased with a pistol following a land dispute.
Accordingly FIR No 163/2026 under section 103 BNS and 3/27 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation was taken up.
Acting swiftly police team of PS Vijaypur arrested the main accused Nikhil Sharma within hours. During investigation accused disclosed his involvement in commission of offence.
On his disclosure weapon of offence pistol was recovered in presence of Executive Magistrate and taken into possession as per procedure.
