SRINAGAR: The delay in the macadamization of road from Natipora to Nowgam in Srinagar sparked a protest, blaming government for turning blind over the issue.

The protesters who blocked the road near Naikbagh area alleged government has not been paying heed to their repeated pleas as the road from Natipora to Nowgam is in shambles and taking a heavy toll on the commuters.

Protesters said that in absence of repairs, the roads dotted with potholes and uneven surface are damaging vehicles. They said that the dilapidated road also poses risk of accidents besides get water-logged after every rainfall.
