Vijay Kumar leaves for New Delhi after reviewing security scenario in Kashmir

Srinagar: Former IPS officer K. Vijay Kumar taking care of security matters with regard to Jammu and Kashmir after reviewing security scenario here went back to New Delhi on Thursday.

  Official sources told Kashmir News Trust that Vijay Kumar was on a two day visit in Kashmir and here he presided a couple of security related meetings.

  Sources added that these meetings were attended by top officers from police and other security agencies. “Security scenario was discussed threadbare and various decisions pertaining to security and law and order were taken,” said an official.

   Vijay Kumar also held one to one meetings with top police officers, sources added.

  Sources further said that Vijay Kumar also visited the office of SP East, located here in Kothi Bagh police Station.

  A 1975-batch IPS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, Vijay Kumar was holding the post of Senior Security Adviser in the Union Home Ministry, when he was appointed as Advisor to the then Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and later he was made advisor to Ministry for Home Affairs with regard to Jammu and Kashmir affairs.
