Srinagar, Oct 29 : Outgoing minister Satish Sharma has got support from an unexpected quarter — the ruling National Conference.
In a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), NC MLA from Budhal Javid Iqbal Choudhary on Wednesday said positions and titles are temporary, but respect earned through honesty, integrity and courage is lasting.
“Dear Satish Sharma Ji, others may get titles and berths, but you have earned the badge of honesty and integrity. Continue contributing to society with the same sincerity and courage. Respect earned through honesty is far more valuable than any position,” he said.
Choudhary said public life should be measured not by the positions one holds, but by the principles one stands for.
“A position may be taken away, but dignity, integrity and the respect of the people cannot be dictated by a chair,” the Budhal MLA added.
Pertinently, Javid was among the 11 MLAs who did not attend the oath ceremony of the new ministers on Tuesday—(KNO)
