The scheme will benefit 21 lakh families who will be able to avail free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh medical expense.
Chugh said the scheme would prove to be a boon particularly for the poor and people living in far-flung areas where medical facilities are frugal.
He said the scheme would enable people of J&K to avail medical facilities not only in J&K hospitals but anywhere in India.
Chugh said the prime minister’s efforts to bring about development and progress in J&K would go a long way in transforming the fortunes of people who have so far been living under the shadow of terrorists guns and bullets.
