KISHTWAR: Member Legislative Council Firdous Tak has said that gun and war was no solution to any issue and Peoples Democratic Party stand for peace through dialogue and reconciliation.

“There is no alternate to dialogue and talks are to be held with all the stake holders to ensure restoration of peace in Jammu and Kashmir”, Tak said while addressing party workers in remote Nagsena area of Kishtwar, near here. He was accompanied by District President Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain, Haji Mohammad Iqbal, Abdul Kabir, Aijaz Ahmed, Gulab Chand, Sukhdev Singh, Sanjeet Kumar, Chander Shekhar and Vijay Kumar.

“We are expecting that era of peace will return to state of Jammu and Kashmir paving way for initiation of dialogue. The conducive atmosphere in the State will compel India and Pakistan to come together ending their hostilities, which has caused bloodshed and destruction”.

“It was also necessary that every individual in the state and especially those associated with PDP play his role in ensuring peace. The state government headed by Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti is keen to address all the issues but peace is imperative for development and prosperity”, he said adding, ““We have to create such a good atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir that India and Pakistan are compelled to come together”.

He said Jammu and Kashmir bears the direct brunt of animosity between India and Pakistan. “There is a direct impact of that on the situation here. Every time India and Pakistan armies are engaged in hostilities the people living in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir face the brunt”, he said.

Referring to the current unrest in Kashmir Valley, he said it is a well thought-out conspiracy of the vested interests that are ardent critics and opponents of the PDP’s revolutionary agenda of reconciliation and resolution. “We are not among those who keep changing their stand and stance. We believe and will continue to work for reconciliation process and engaging youth of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said.

Taking a dig on opposition National Conference and Congress for playing negative politics for their vested interests, Peoples Democratic Party MLC Firdous Tak today said that the present coalition government, led by PDP, was setting new benchmarks on governance, financial and development fronts.

“The government has a focused strategy and plans in order to transform the state of Jammu and Kashmir and bring it out of the chaos and confusion besides ensuring financial stability”, he said.

Unfortunately the state of Jammu and Kashmir has suffered badly due to the anti-people policies of National Conference and Congress, he said adding, “Mufti Sahib brought peace and prosperity in the state after taking reign of power in 2002 but the achievements in all the sectors were reversed again by the NC-Congress combine after 2008”.

“During the six years of NC-Congress rule alone, the state witnessed a virtual dismantling of all the institutions of governance with politico-contractor mafia ruling the roost and looting the exchequer during that dark era”, he said adding that party’s governments in 2002 and again in 2015 pioneered ground-breaking initiatives on political and developmental front.

He said that frustrated after losing the power National Conference-Congress has resorted to negative posturing hoodwinking the people on various issues.

He said that present Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti was carrying forward the agenda envisaged by her father and party patron and was working day and night to strengthen democratic institutions and bring respite for the masses.
