Srinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau, Jammu today caught red handed Naib Tehsildar Jhajjar Kotli Faryad Ali and Patwari Halqa Yadav Chander while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs. 90,000/- from the complainant Javid Ashraf for issuance of fard-e-Intikhab of 2 marlas of land.
A complaint was lodged by one Javid Ashraf against Naib Tehsildar Faryad Ali and Patwari Halqa Jhajjar Kotli, Jammu regarding demand of bribe of Rs. 90,000/- for the issuance of fard-e-Intikhab of 2 marlas of land. In a statement to Valley Media Service, it was stated by the complainant that his family had a building in 22 marlas of plot on National Highway Jhajjar Kotli which is in his name as well as in the name of his brother. He planned to buy another 2 marlas of land adjacent to their plot but the Naib Tehsildar as well Patwari Halqa demanded an amount of Rs. 90,000/- as bribe for the issuance of the revenue extract (fard-e-Intikhab). As he didn’t want to pay the bribe, he requested the Anti-Corruption Bureau to take legal action in this regard.
On the basis of the complaint since a prima facie case was found to made out, a formal case FIR No. 11/2019 u/s 5(1) (d) r/w Sec. 5(2) P.C Act Svt. 2006 with Sec. 4-A of P.C Act & Sec. 120-B RPC was registered at Police Station ACB Jammu and entrusted to Inspr. Vikram Sharma. A trap team of the officers/officials of Police Station ACB Jammu with Dy SP Abdul Wahid Giri, as TLO was constituted for the purpose, which laid a successful trap and apprehended the accused, red handed, while demanding and accepting the illegal gratification of Rs. 90,000/- from the complainant in presence of the independent witnesses. The accused were arrested on the spot. Further investigation has been taken up.(VMS)
