Srinagar, Oct 5 : National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that a meeting was convened to strengthen the party in Srinagar.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines, as per GNS, Abdullah said he met eight MLAs from Srinagar, district presidents, block presidents and workers to review the party’s functioning and discuss shortcomings.
“We discussed what are the shortcomings and how we can overcome them. A new roadmap will be presented and after it is passed in the working committee, work will start on it,” Abdullah said.
On the Supreme Court issuing notice to the Centre regarding functioning of the Election Commission, Abdullah welcomed the move.
“The Supreme Court has said that the Chief Election Commissioner has taken decisions without the approval of the two Election Commissioners. I am very happy that the Supreme Court has taken notice of it. We hope it will look into it and correct the mistakes they have made,” he said.
Reacting to West Bengal BJP’s statement about implementing Uniform Civil Code in the next six months, Abdullah said they will talk about implementing many things, but they have no idea what Almighty Allah is going to implement.(GNS)
