Srinagar, May 05 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have recovered a kidnapped girl in Kulgam and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
A police spokesman in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that on 19-07-2020, PS Manzgam received a complaint from a person stating therein that his daughter (name withheld) had been kidnapped by one person namely Imran Gorsi @Abrar son of Mir Mohammad Gorsi resident of Yarikha DH Pora.
Accordingly, police said that a case FIR No. 34/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Manzgam and investigation was initiated.
An investigation team headed by SHO Manzgam under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora was constituted. Acting on specific leads, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl and arrest the accused person from Yarikha DH Pora Kulgam. He has been shifted to PS Manzgam where he remains in custody, police said.
“After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress,” police said.
