Leh, March 8: Government Degree College, Nubra, in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Service Committee (TLSC), Nubra, organised a legal awareness camp on International Women’s Day in Nubra.
Judicial Officer (Munsiff), Nubra, Chimet Yurgyal, was the chief guest for the event. He spoke on the rights of women as enshrined in India’s Constitution and the methods to avail legal assistance. He also apprised the participants of the judicial services available in the Nubra sub-district for the smooth disposal of civil cases through the Legal Aid Clinic.
Principal GDC, Nubra, Dr Tsewang Motup, also spoke during the event.
Three students- Stanzin Wangmo, Stanzin Palkit and Tsering Chedon- also spoke on different topics. Assistant Professor, Sociology, Samina Rehman, spoke on women leaders who battled the odds to succeed in their fields.
Assistant Professor, English, Parveen Fatima, gave the vote of thanks.
