Crackdown in Kulgam, amid protest army resorts to aerial firing

SRINAGAR: Army launched a crackdown in Okay village of Kulgam today morning which triggered protest after army allegedly thrashed few civilians.

Reports said that after army asked all males to assemble in a local stadium, they thrash few civilians following which scores of women assembled to protest against the alleged thrashing of civilians.

Reports said that the army resort to aerial firing to disperse the protesting women. Later, the operation was called off.
