Ganderbal: Ajar locality in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district was submerged after a nearby stream breached due to incessant rains and snowfall from last 24 hours.
Residents said that a stream in the area breached which submerged several residential houses.
They said that nobody from the administration has so far visited the area, which is located near the residence of the Deputy Commissioner.
The residents sought the help of the authorities.
“Due to breaching of the stream, several houses were inundated and the main Bandipora-Sonerwani road got blocked as the stream is flowing on the road,” said Sarfaraz Prince, a local resident.
Meanwhile, Bandipora-Srinagar road got blocked due to a mudslide in Saderkoot Bala area.
An official said that BRO machinery has been deputed to the area to clear the road.
Meanwhile, several areas, including Muslim Abad, Greenland Colony, Nowpora and Stadium Colony, were inundated due to incessant rains.
