Anantnag, Oct 7 : Six structures were damaged in a major fire that broke out in Qazi Mohalla of Anantnag during the intervening night of October 6 and 7, while a Fire and Emergency Services personnel sustained injuries during the firefighting operation.
The blaze broke out in the locality during the night, triggering an emergency response by Fire and Emergency Services teams. Personnel, assisted by locals, engaged in firefighting efforts and brought the fire under control, preventing further spread in the area.
Khalid Bashir, a Fire and Emergency Services personnel, sustained injuries while fighting the blaze and was shifted to Government Medical College Anantnag for treatment.
Six structures, including residential houses, were damaged in the incident. No loss of life was reported.
The preliminary cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit. [KNT]
