Srinagar: Iltija Mufti on Monday termed the West Bengal election mandate a “daylight robbery,” while also taking a swipe at what she described as “lamestream media” for its coverage of the polls.

In a post on social media, Mufti said the election “was never even fair to begin with,” questioning the credibility of the process and alleging that the outcome did not reflect the popular mandate.

“Why does lamestream media pretend it was a master stroke when this was patent daylight robbery of popular mandate?” she wrote.

The remarks come amid ongoing counting of votes in West Bengal, where early trends have indicated BJP inching towards victory, with results still being finalized. [KNT]
