Srinagar, Oct 8 : Amid gusty winds and rain, around 15 tourists were safely rescued after their Shikara got stranded in Dal Lake in Srinagar, officials said here on Thursday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the tourists, who were enjoying their Shikara ride on Dal Lake, were safely rescued after their Shikara got stranded near Nehru Park amid strong winds and rain.
He said that upon receiving information about the incident, CRPF and SDRF personnel and rescue teams immediately launched a rescue operation and safely evacuated all the stranded tourists.
“The exact number was not counted at the time of the rescue, while the number of tourists may have been more than 15,” he said.
Meanwhile, an investigation has been taken up, while the official said that all the tourists were safe and sound.—(KNO)
