SRINAGAR: Students of Government Degree College Handwaraon Wednesday clashed with forces to protest the killing of a student in Ganowpora village of Shopian in south Kashmir last evening.
Witnesses said that hundreds of students of the college took to streets and staged massive protests against the killing of Adil Farooq. The protesting students, who were raising pro-freedom and anti-government slogans, pelted stones on the forces who responded by firing tear smoke shells. The movement of traffic was affected due to clashes in the area, they said.
Adil Farooq Magray, a college student, was hit by a bullet in his chest after forces opened fire to disperse protesters who were trying to disrupt an anti-militant operation in Ganawpora village of Shopian district.
