SRINAGAR: The slain sumo driver who was killed after militants attacked army personnel boarding his vehicle in Shopian was today laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Kuchdora village of Shopian district.
Reports said that a large number of people took part in the funeral prayers of slain driver Nazir Ahmad Sheikh amid pro-freedom. Meanwhile, Shopian observed complete shutdown to mourn the death of Nazir.
Sheikh was driving soldiers returning from a daylong anti-militancy operation in Shopian when militants ambushed the vehicle on Thursday. Three soldiers were also injured in the attack.
