Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) on Friday postponed the optional Punjabi and Kashmiri paper of 8th standard.
This has been learnt that the examination papers were scheduled to be held in the second meeting on November 21.
“The examination of Punjabi and Kashmiri is rescheduled to be held on November 22 at 11 AM,” reads the SCERT notification.
In the previous scheduled date sheet, the examination of the compulsory subjects Urdu and Hindi were listed to hold in the first meeting and the elective subjects Punjabi and Kashmiri were scheduled to be held in the second meeting on November-21.
An SCERT official told that the exams of the elective subjects were postponed following the complaints from the parents of those wards appearing in the exams. “The parents said that conducting exams of two papers in two meetings will overburden the students,” the official said.
