Pesky power cuts irk Batagund, Mawer residents

Handwara: Inhabitants of Mawer Batagund in north Kashmir’s Handwara on Monday expressed resentment against the Power Development Department (PDD) for failing to provide them electricity as per schedule.

The residents said that the department is deliberately disconnecting several transformers of the area, resulting in severe hardships to the people.

They said that they are regularly visiting the concerned officials and every time they are being assured that the issues will be redressed, however so far nothing has been done to redress the problem, residents added.

Meanwhile, the residents appealed authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so the people in the area could heave a sigh of relief amid bone chilling cold—(KNO)
