Kargil, May 11, : Authorities in Kargil Division of Ladakh have decided to impose a strict lockdown in wake of rising Coronavirus cases.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that no social, political or religious gatherings will be allowed in the district.
He said this decision was taken in a high-level meeting organized at Conference Hall Baroo, in which political, religious and social organizations participated.
The meeting was presided by Chairman Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council while District Magistrate, Senior Superintendent of Police, Additional SP, CMO Kargil and other district officer were present in the meeting.
After a threadbare discussion it was decided not to allow any religious, political and social gathering in Kargil district in wake of rising Covid-19 cases.
The official said that the administration will adopt zero-tolerance against those violating the SOPs and guidelines and they will be dealt with strictly. He however, said, the decision can be reviewed as the situation unfolds in the coming days and further relaxations can be given if there is an improvement. (KNT)
