Srinagar: A fire broke out in a cowshed belonging to Bashir Ahmed in the Posha One area of Tral on Monday, triggering panic among residents before Fire and Emergency Services personnel brought the blaze under control, officials and locals said.
Officials said teams from the Fire and Emergency Department Awantipora rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information about the incident and launched firefighting operations to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby structures.
The fire damaged the cowshed, though no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident, according to initial reports.
Local residents also joined the rescue and firefighting efforts and assisted emergency personnel during the operation.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, and officials said an assessment of the damage was being carried out.
Officials said the timely response by firefighters helped contain the blaze before it could spread further. [KNT
