Drone-Like Object Spotted Near LoC in Poonch, Troops Open Fire

Poonch: Security forces on Thursday evening reported the sighting of a drone-like flying object along the Line of Control (LoC) in Degwar area of Poonch district, official sources said.

They told GNS that the object was observed hovering near an army post along the area. “Troops from the unit responded by firing nearly 40 rounds in an attempt to neutralize it, however, the object could not be brought down,” they said adding “after brief movement over the Indian side, the object reportedly crossed back towards the other side.”

The fresh incident, they said, has raised security concerns amid heightened drone-related alerts along the LoC in the region. (GNS)
