SRINAGAR: Expressing grief and shock over the death of contractual teacher Gulzar Ahmed of Wanganwari, Zempora who had done M .Phil M A, Med, Bhartiya Janata Party state spokesman Altaf Thakur today said the contractual teachers have been protesting against their meagre salary of Rs 4500 since past many years and that the previous regimes couldn’t resolve their issues.
Thakur while praying for the highest standards in janah for the deceased contractual teacher urged Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into their issues and demands as they have been on a protest at Pratap Park Srinagar since May 11. Thakur appealed the Governor administration to give a patient hearing to the demands of these protesting contractual teachers and to resolve them so that precious lives are saved. (PTK)
