Srinagar, Nov 2: Panic gripped the office of District Magistrate (DM) in the frontier district of Kupwara when a live grenade was found on Thursday, official sources said.

They said people ran for safety after a hand grenade was found near the office of DM at Kupwara.
The area was immediately sealed and all those present in the area were taken to safe place.

Later the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was immediately summoned and the grenade was defused without causing any damage.
Had it not been detected, it would have caused much damage as large number people are visiting DM’s office daily, they said.
