NEW DELHI: Coal minister Piyush Goyal on Friday announced reward for over three lakh non-executive employees of Coal India Ltd for consistently maintaining high rate of growth in production.

Goyal raised the proposed one-time advance by nearly 25% from Rs 40,000 to Rs 51,000. The payout will be made by October 17. The one-time advance would be paid to employees currently on the rolls of CIL.
This payout is in addition to the 20% salary hike the employees were given last week after a year-long wage negotiations with year-long wage negotiations with trade unions.
