Bandipora 08 Dec.2022 : Bandipora police continuing its war on drugs arrested a drug peddler at Bagh Bandipora and recovered Approx.900 Grms of contraband substance Charas from Husband- wife duo.
Acting on a specific information regarding movement of drug peddlers near Bagh Bandipora.Police party of police station Bandipora led by SHO PS Bandipora Insp.Zahoor Ahmad under the supervision of DYSP Hqrs Bandipora Shri Shafat Mohamad -JKPS noticed suspicious movement of two pedestrians coming from Wudar Mohalla towards Bagh Bandipora ,one male and other female .The duo on seeing the Police party tried to escape and were chased by police party and the suspected man was tactfully nabbed, whereas the lady drug peddler managed to flee from the spot.But, while fleeing she threw a bag which fell on the road.The bag was searched and Charas Powder of Aprrox.450 grams was recovered from the bag and during personal search of the man 500 Grms of Charas powder along with Rs 1400/ were recovered from him.
The arrested person disclosed his identity Mohd Shafi Sheikh S/O Mohd Shahbaz Sheikh R/O Sheikh Mohalla Bandipora ,whereas he identified the escaped lady as her wife namely Sameera Begum W/O Mohd Shafi Sheikh R/O Sheikh Mohalla Bandipora and efforts are on to trace her.During preliminary enquiry it was known that the Charas was meant for collective sale among the youths of the area.
In this connection Case FIR No.183/2022 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Bandipora and further investigation taken up.
