Higher ups informed, vacant posts to be filled soon: CMO Ganderbal
Ganderbal : Puncturing the tall claims of the administration about better health care services, the non-functional facilities at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Tulmulla area of Ganderbal district has left the patients and their attendants to suffer.
Tulmulla, a famous place in the district, which houses a revered temple of Mata Kheer Bhawani, is just a few miles away from District Headquarters, but the authorities have failed to ensure better health care to the local residents there.
Locals said that though the PHC building is well maintained and equipped with all medical and diagnostic equipments, but unfortunately, the equipment continues to remain non-functional due to non-availability of technicians.
The X-ray plant installed at PHC is gathering dust and is of no use to patients besides the dearth of doctors, especially surgeons, forcing the patients to visit District Hospital Ganderbal for treatment.
In case of medical emergency, they feel helpless because they are not able to receive proper medical attention in the centre, the local residents said and appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Principal Secretary Health to intervene into the matter so that the people could heave a sigh of relief.
When contacted, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Afroza Shah, she told KNO that they had informed the higher authorities about the vacant post at PHC Tulmullah and it is expected to be fulfilled soon—(KNO)
