South Kashmir: Army man killed, operation on

Srinagar 16 Apr, (KDC): An Army personnel of 19 RR has been killed in an ongoing encounter between militants and security forces at Watnar village of Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, official sources said.

They told news agency KDC that an army personnel identified as Lance Naik Nasheen got injured in the encounter and was immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital Kokernag for treatment.

However, the personnel, who had received bullet injuries, was declared dead by doctors on arrival.

Earlier officials said that the encounter broke out after a cordon and search operation was carried out by a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF.

The encounter is underway and more reinforcement is being rushed to the spot. (KDC)
