COVID-19: Seven more patients die; 419 test positive in J&K

Total cases 115,626, tally of deaths soars to 1,793 deaths; recovery rate over 94 percent in UT

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded seven deaths due to COVID-19 pandemic taking the death toll to 1,793 in the Union Territory while 419 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 115,626 in J&K.

Of the exact number of 115,626 cases, 68,376 are from Kashmir and 47,250 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 419 new cases, 211 belong to Kashmir division while as 208 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 68,376 including 64,673 recoveries and 1,148 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 47,250 including 44,329 recoveries and 645 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,831 including 2,555 from Kashmir division and 2,276 from Jammu division.

With 430 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 109,002 which is 94.27 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 89 from Srinagar, 24 from Baramulla, 35 from Budgam, 14 from Kupwara,   10 from Pulwama, 05 from Anantnag, 09 from Bandipora, 16 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 09 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 208 from Jammu division include 118 from Jammu, 26 from Udhampur, 12 from Rajouri, 09 from Doda, 13 from Kathua, 13 from Kishtwar, 11 from Samba, 02 from Poonch, 03 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours seven persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them three belong to Kashmir division and four to Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Baramulla and one from Kupwara in Kashmir division and three from Jammu district and one from Rajouri in Jammu division.

As per officials figures, 24,161 positive cases including 433 deaths and 22,601 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,717 including 168 deaths and 7,341 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,290 including 6,881 recoveries and 105 deaths are from Budgam, 5,361 including 5,088 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Kupwara, 5,276 including 87 deaths and 5,014 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,657 including 4,451 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,533 cases including 4,367 and 56 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,343 including 4,138 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,624 including 2,506 recoveries and 52 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,414 including 2,286 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 22,072 including 20,954 recoveries and 327 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,935 including 3,502 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,688 including 3,399 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,283 including 3,063 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Doda, 2,995 including 2,830 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Kathua, 2,656 including 2,480 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,618 including 2,376 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Samba, 2,419 including 2,361 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,028 including 1,918 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,556 including 1,446 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 826,972 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 23,197 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 4,831 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 769,997 persons have completed surveillance period and 27,154 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,319,656 samples are available.

Out of 3,319,656 the number of samples tested negative stands at 3,204,030 while as 115,626 have tested positive, among them 4,831 persons are active, 109,002 persons have recovered and 1,793 persons have died(KNO)
