Srinagar : Lakes And Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) have decided to act tough against encroachers who take advantage of this Pandemic.
Sources told news agency KNT that a special team under DSP LAWDA, Rayees Ahmed has been formed to check illegal constructions and take strict action against violators.
Insiders said that there were reports that some unscrupulous elements were ferrying construction material even in this pandemic. To stop this illegal practice, LAWDA team led by DSP has been active on ground and people have been asked to desist from constructing any structure whatsoever illegally.
“We have demolished many structures that had come up illegally and these were mostly tin sheds. In future as well, nobody would be allowed to take advantage of the situation and strict action will be initiated against violators,” said an official. (KNT)
