Srinagar: Court granted bail to senior separatist leader Javiad Ahmed Mir in a 15 year old case on Thursday.
Police Station Shaheed Ganj had lodged a case against Javiad Ahmed Mir and his incarcerated associate Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bita Karate in 2005 for organizing a Muharram procession.
Dar could not be produced in the court of First Munsif as he is languishing in Tihar Jail at the moment. Mir was granted bail by the court that listed the case for next hearing on 18 April.
The accused were represented by Advocate Tahoor Mushtaq Pampori.
Mir and Dar have been accused by police of organizing a Muharram procession in Guru Bazar area of Srinagar city in 2005. (KNT)
