Blaze Erupts In Floodlight Tower At Bakshi Stadium, Brought Under Control

Srinagar, Sep 24 : A blaze erupted in one of the floodlight towers at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar late night, officials said.They told GNS that soon after receiving information about the incident, men and machinery from Fire and Emergency Services Department were pressed into service. A team from Fire Station Gowkadal responded swiftly and launched firefighting operation.The flames were brought under control after hectic efforts, they said.The cause of the fire as well as assessment of damage is being ascertained, they added.More details awaited.(GNS)
