Free Bus Ride For Differently-Abled Persons In J&K: Govt

Srinagar, Sep 17 : The Jammu and Kashmir Government announced free ridership for differently-abled persons on government-owned public transport across the Union Territory.As per Government Order issued by Transport Department, sanction has been accorded to implementation of free ridership to all differently-abled persons in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir on government-owned public transport including e-Buses run by the JKRTC and Jammu/Srinagar Smart City Limited with immediate effect.The order states that the implementation of the scheme shall strictly adhere to the Operational Guidelines annexed as Annexure ‘A’ to the order.The move is part of the Mega Announcements in Budget 2026-27.(GNS)
