Budgam: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are fully committed to restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a public rally in Budgam, Chugh said, “Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will restore statehood. Statehood will definitely come to Jammu and Kashmir.”
He accused Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of misleading the people by claiming that the Lieutenant Governor (LG) was an obstacle in governance. “Only the police department is under the LG, while all other departments are controlled by Omar Abdullah himself. He is lying to the people to cover up his failures,” Chugh remarked.
The BJP leader further alleged that Omar Abdullah and his party legislators were more interested in enjoying privileges rather than delivering on promises made to the people. “Omar Abdullah is focused on protocol and red-beacon culture instead of governance. His government has completed 375 days, yet there is no visible change on the ground. This government cares little for the common people,” Chugh said.
He maintained that the BJP’s commitment to peace, progress, and justice in Jammu and Kashmir remains unwavering and that the restoration of statehood will mark a major step in consolidating democracy in the region. [KNT]
