Srinagar: United Jihad Council (UJC) chief Syed Salahuddin while remembering Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Muhammad Afzal Guru on their anniversaries said them as “shining stars” of Kashmir’s freedom movement.
Syed Salahuddin in a statement issued to GNS said by hanging Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Muhammad Afzal Guru, India attempted to completely crush the freedom struggle of Kashmiris but the movement gained further momentum.
Despite hanging these “shining stars”, the armed struggle in Kashmir continues while as the people’s movement is at its peak, the UJC chief said adding that Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Muhammad Afzal Guru preferred going to gallows over living a life of “slavery”.
Syed Salahuddin, who is also the chairman of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, also paid tributes to “martyrs” of Kashmir in general and those ‘martyred” recently in particular and said nobody will be allowed to play with their “sacred” blood. (GNS)
