Srinagar: The much-anticipated Sonzal 2024, Jammu and Kashmir’s largest inter-university youth festival, commenced on Thursday at the University of Kashmir.Organized by the Division of Youth Affairs, Department of Students Welfare, the festival celebrates the region’s art, culture, and youth engagement.According to the details gathered, the festival runs from December 12 to December 20. This year’s theme, “Carving a Creative Paradise,” aims to inspire creativity and unite hearts through arts, peace, and prosperity.Similarly, students from the educational institutions across J&K have gathered to showcase their talents in various art forms, including music, drama, literature, and fine arts.At the opening ceremony, a student said, “Sonzal offers a unique platform to explore creativity and connect with fellow students from different institutions. It’s more than a competition, it is a celebration of youth.”Another student added, “Events like these are vital for nurturing talent and promoting cultural exchange. We’re thrilled to be part of this festival.”Notably, Sonzal 2024 included mainstream traditional performances and competitions, with workshops on how to cultivate mutual understanding and harmony.
