Budgam : The poor condition of several roads in this central Kashmir’s Budgam district has left the commuters anguished, who have appealed to the concerned department to macadamize the roads at the earliest.
The people in several areas of the district told that they have apprised the Road & Buildings (R&B) and PMGSY departments about the bad condition of roads but to no avail.
These roads include Chadoora-Wathora, Sogam-Surasyar, Chitru-Gudsathu, Sarai-Pulwama and others.
The residents of the areas said that some of the roads are in dilapidated condition as they have not been repaired for long. They said that authorities have failed to widen and macadamize these roads for years.
A local of Kaisermulla village said, “Dumpers hauling material for the new highway has ruined the roads.”
The R&B and PMGSY departments are exhibiting gross negligence as the area has not witnessed any blacktopping activity for years, a local from Pushpura, said.
