Kupwara: Senior political leaders and top police officers on Tuesday visited Muqam-e-Shahwali, Drugmulla, to offer condolences to the family of Inspector Shah Asrar-ul-Haq, who lost his life in an accidental explosion at Nowgam Police Station on Friday night.
PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, Peoples Conference Chairperson and MLA Handwara Sajad Gani Lone, and AIP senior leader and MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed Ahmad, besides DIG CID Rayees Mohammad Bhat, SP Handwara Sahil Sangral, DySP Headquarters Kupwara Mubashir Ahmad, SHO Awantipora Asif Iqbal, and other officers, met with the bereaved family to convey their sympathies and express solidarity in their time of grief.
During the visit, the leaders and officers interacted with the relatives of the deceased officer, offering condolences and assuring them of every possible support. They described Inspector Asrar as a committed and exemplary police officer whose professionalism and integrity had earned him wide respect.
Pertint to mention here, Inspector Shah Asrar-ul-Haq was among nine individuals who died when seized explosive material accidentally detonated during an assessment at Nowgam Police Station. Several others were injured in the incident. (GNS)
