Pulwama: In strict compliance with directions of the Court of Special Judge (NDPS), Pulwama, the SIT NDPS Pulwama on Monday successfully conducted a public auction of 487 apple boxes seized in a narcotics related case, officials said.
The auction was held at Police Station Litter and was conducted through a transparent and competitive bidding process in accordance with prescribed legal procedures. Officials said all statutory norms were followed during the proceedings.

The auction process was carried out in the presence of the Executive Magistrate First Class Litter, the Horticulture Area Marketing Officer along with his team, besides independent witnesses and participating bidders, to ensure fairness and transparency.
Officials said Manzoor Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Mohi ud Din Wani, a native of Shopian, emerged as the highest bidder at a rate of Rs 670 per apple box. The auction fetched a total amount of Rs 3,26,290, which has been deposited into the bank account of the Special NDPS Court Pulwama following due legal procedure.
The Pulwama Police said the entire process was conducted strictly under court directions and in full compliance with the law, reiterating the department’s commitment to transparency, accountability and adherence to legal procedures. [KNT]
