Poonch Landslide Incident: Injured Truck Driver Succumbs

Poonch, Jun 19 (GNS): A truck-driver injured in a landslide in Mandi area of Poonch has succumbed to his injuries at a hospital here, officials said.

They told GNS that one Mohammad Tariq resident of Behalia Mandi was left trapped after a landslide hit the truck he was moving in, near Saklo Mandi area this afternoon. The police alongside locals after strenuous efforts for nearly an hour rescued the driver and evacuated him to SDH Mandi, they said adding however owing to the grievous injuries he succumbed at the health facility soon after.

SHO Mandi Bashir Kohli in the meantime also confirmed the death of the person in the particular incident. (GNS)
