Police register case against Sarpanch for cutting down trees without permission

Anantnag, : Police register a case against a Sarpanch for cutting down trees in the premises of Panchayat Ghar without government permission.

Sources told that yesterday Sarpanch Halqa Chee who has been identified as Abdul Gani Khanday cut down poplar and willow trees with the support of other Panchayat members.

Sources added that these trees were cut down in the premises of Panchayat Ghar located at Anchidora Anantnag. Sarpanch along with other Panch members cutdown 9 poplar and 4 willow trees without seeking permission from concerned Block Development Officer.

Taking cognizance of the incident, police registered an FIR vide number 244/2021 under section 447,379 against the Sarpanch at concerned police station. (KNT)
