People in Pulwama’s Urwan angry over incomplete playground
Pulwama : Work on sports ground situated in Urwan area of Pulwama district has been left incomplete, angering locals.
Athletes from several villages in the area told that they expected that the government will prioritize upgrading facilities at the sports ground so that they can get engaged in sports activities.
Irshad Ahmad a local said development of playing facilities is vital in the face of rising drug addiction in the Valley.
He said that around 10 lakh rupees were spent on the ground by the government in 2020 but they were insufficient to complete all the works.
Since then, funds were released but they relapsed after no works were taken up.
Many a time officials of the administration visited the ground and assured that work will start soon but nothing on ground, he said.
They urged the authorities to develop this ground at the earliest—(KNO)
