BANDIPORA: Residents of Payeen Nowgam stage protest over mobile network issues at Payeen Nowgam on Wednesday.
Local Residents ‘said” that In times of digital world, Payeen Nowgam Village in Sumbal Sonawari area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district area yet disconnected with the world. Subscribers of Private Telecommunication companies like Jio and Airtel have complained about erratic calling and internet services in Payeen Nowgam Sonawari in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district
The residents of Payeen Nowgam village which consists of around 300 households have been suffering in absence of proper network connectivity.
Social activist Nasir Rasool said, that they cannot make any calls even during emergencies and living without proper connectivity in today’s world is like living in dark age.
When world is witnessing 5G internet connectivity, we don’t have basic cellular connectivity to call our friends, relatives and others,” said, another local.
“We usually move to other places to make phone calls as our phones remain out of service, when we stay indoors,” he said.
Hilal Ahmed another lacal ‘said” that students community suffered a lot in last two three years as they were facing problems in attending online classes in absence of network connectivity and even students had to go to nearby areas in search of mobile connectivity to attend their classes.
“We have been suffering due to frequent call drops and poor network connectivity,” they told adding that despite repeated attempts, concerned authorities have failed to construct mobile Tower to resolve the issue.
Locals, said that , Jio has terribly failed in Constructing of Mobile Towers in Payeen Nowgam Village despite many requests by local public . From the last few months, it seems our Village have been ignored by these mobile companies.”
He added, “It is miserable, suffocating and has become an obstacle as far as online studies of students are concerned.”
Another local resident said”, “We request the concerned companies to kindly construct mobile Towers in Payeen Nowgam Village in Bandipora District and resolve this irritating problem, which has become a source of daily headache to local public in the Village.
